Founder of The Lois Pope Life Foundation, Lois Pope also led the efforts to establish the American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial, a monument honoring veterans both living and deceased. Presently, the United States has 3 million veterans living with disabilities. In August 2012, Lois Pope received the news that the Federal Highway Administration would grant more than $6 million to begin constructing roads for the memorial.
