Celebrity Dog Expert Victoria Stilwell Speaks on Behalf of the American Humane Association

November 22, 2013

In February 2013, a large crowd gathered at the Chesterfield Palm Beach for an afternoon tea session with Victoria Stilwell, the star of Animal Planet’s It’s Me or the Dog. The event represented the second installment in a lecture series supported by the American Humane Association and The Lois Pope LIFE Foundation. During the event, Ms. Stilwell offered the audience various positive reinforcement training tips, interspersed with moving stories about the bond forged between dogs and humans. A national ambassador of the American Humane Association, she also reinforced the primary message of that organization: compassion toward those who have no voice of their own.

The event brought together a number of leaders in the greater Palm Beach, Florida, area, including members of the American Humane Association Board of Directors and its National Leadership Advisory Council, as well as Suzi Goldsmith, who founded the Tri County Humane Society of Boca Raton.

At the sold-out event, Lois Pope introduced Ms. Stilwell, who has written several books on the topic of dog training. Her positive reinforcement techniques allow owners to teach even the most uncooperative dogs to listen attentively and become rewarding companions.
