Lois Pope: Luncheon Series Celebrates Animal-Human Bond

December 4, 2013

The Lois Pope LIFE Foundation, Inc., based in South Florida, uses the generous contributions from its founder to support numerous programs focusing on public education, cultural enrichment, and humanitarian assistance in its local community and worldwide. Lois Pope recently sponsored a series of lunchtime lectures in the Palm Beach area titled “Be Humane,” co-hosted by the American Humane Association.

At the February 21, 2013, program, the second in a three-part series, attendees at an afternoon tea met dog trainer Victoria Stilwell, host of It’s Me or the Dog!, on the Animal Planet TV network. The British-born Stilwell has earned international recognition as an animal expert for her training system based on positive reinforcement. She has also served as a judge on the CBS program Greatest American Dog. As an American Humane Association national ambassador, Stilwell has assisted in promoting greater public awareness of animal-related issues.

The sold-out event, held at the Chesterfield Hotel, focused on the American Humane Association’s message of compassion for animals, children, and all living things. Attendees included philanthropists and animal enthusiasts from throughout the South Florida region.
